Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian and television host best known as the host on The Talk, a popular talk show that airs on daytime TV. Sheryl Underwood, born in Arkansas was raised in Arkansas in the area of Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is the product of the midst of a difficult background. Sheryl was a part of her childhood taking care of her sister Frankie with polio. She had a lot of problems with her mother as she was growing to. Sheryl states that in one instance her mother stabbed her father for being too close with her. Sheryl became a military officer after graduating from the college. Her interest was in comedy. She was the first woman to win the Miller Lite Comedy Search in 1989. She began her TV career after becoming regularly performing at The HBO Comedy Show Def Comedy Jam in 1992. She hosted the television show Oh Drama! in 2000. The show has also featured her as a host on The Talk since 2011. Additionally, she's been in fictional roles on shows including Bulworth Nikki as well as Beauty Shop.
