Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and television host, as well as philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family when she was the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her as the most influential woman in the field of media in the year 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the ranking. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media outlets in the year 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are management consultants and journalists. While she was close to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. She was a leader even in her early years. at the age of 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college where she eventually became its first foreign female president. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. Following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and TV host. She also appeared in an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
