Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than 10 years. She is also the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated from Greece to England at the age of 16 and received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame she gained helped her to convince several stars to voice their views on current events, as well as politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided in 2003 to become an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. In addition, she led the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her the "most influential women" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was named the president of this group. This included many AOL properties at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father, it was their bond which shaped her. From her early years, she showed leadership abilities that remain highly respected. At the age of 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. Being the third woman president and first foreigner, she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy.
